Earrings - Dorothy Perkins
Ring - Dorothy Perkins

So I've been on yet another online splurge. A mini one though...if that makes it any better? I recently bought some black feather earrings and decided I was in love with them, so when I found this pair on the Dorothy Perkins website, I couldn't resist. I also bought my ring in the same order but I think I'm going to have to return it. I have the most babyish fingers in the world and even though this ring is a small, it slips right off.
Hint .... never buy a ring online from Dorothy Perkins. I've noticed that their clothing sizes are a bit messed up too, definitely one to be cautious of.
And yes, I've joined the 'nail art pen hype'. Without a doubt. I've seen countless blogs review the Model's Own one and with all the amazing designs I've seen, I just had to have it. But my god, it's not as easy as it looks!!

I find painting my nails hard enough. It always goes relatively well until I realise I've got a bit of polish on my skin. So I  patiently wait until my nails are dry and then  reach over for my cotton bud and neaten it up.
However, in the process of doing this, I've managed to smudge another nail. I foolishly grab a cotton wool pad, dab some nail polish remover on it and start that nail again. Of course, I then forget that the 'newly corrected nail' is going to take longer to dry. Whether its going to put my hair up, do my teeth or even just open a door, I'll get some stupid little imprint on that nail. So I have to start again,
It really is a vicious cycle.

Can you imagine the trouble I had when I finished all of that, and then did my 'artwork'? I wanted to go for a zebra effect, however after attempting one line and getting something that resembled a worm, I realised that I couldn't even do the simplest of things. I must have re-done each nail like, twice? three times? Probably more.

The pen is actually really difficult to use as the second you hold your hand in a certain way or put a tiny bit more pressure on one of your fingers, the consistency changes. My nails on my right hand also looked terrible as I'm not ambidextrous in any sense. All I can say is, if you don't have a steady hand, this pen is a waste of money. Trust me!

Saying that, I love it and it is really addictive. I've gone on to the Wah Nails twitter/website and some of the designs are just incredible. Give me a few weeks, I'll think I can do them all and truly mess it all up whilst completely rinsing my bottle. I'll keep trying though ... and maybe you'll get some funny pictures along the way :)

  2. I always get nail varnish on my skin, soaking them in water after they've dried gets it off real quick. I always do the washing up after, it magically just falls off!
