BENEFIT

My make up collection has always consisted of simple products that haven't completely broken the bank. That was until I started blogging and reading about what other people were buying. It gave me an unfamiliar feeling of wanting to experiment a little bit with new products. Benefit packaging has always drawn me in with the old fashioned, almost pin up girl design and beautiful boxes and after reading a few reviews on actual products, I decided that Benefit shall be my Guinea pig (so to speak) on more expensive make up.

These eyshadows have now become a weekend essential. Even though there's 3, I feel like there is so much variation as to what I can do with them, and the how to guides (which are included) definitely work a treat. The 2 on the right seem to be for a more evening look but if I combine them with the lighter coloured shadow, my eyes look perfectly defined. This one also comes with a concealer which is just amazing; much better than my usual £2.99 sticks anyway.

Ooo eyebrows. I have always been mega scared to look like Keira Knightley with my brows so neverrrr everrrr did anything to them (apart from pluck, of course). BUT, last year I was going through some old photos and I either couldn't see my eyebrows or they just looked really stupid (great word to use...I know). I invested in a Rimmel eyebrow pencil which I still love but needed something a little bit more...experienced?

Uhhhh I actually couldn't live without this now. The colour (top left) is actually quite dark, especially because I have very blonde hair, but it blends in so easily that I only have to use a tiny bit and it covers perfectly. It also includes a waxy type substance for the ends of my brows which really helps define my eyebrows. The best part of this kit is the highlighter powder and eye bright cream (As you can see I've already made a mess with the latter). I find that these two really open up my eyes and help me look far more awake! The one downside to this palette is the tweezers; they are so stiff!! I can barely close them which proves difficult when trying to pull out little stragglers so they just stay in the box!

Just putting it out there that I don't know what the brown coloured shade is. Actually no idea. I put it on once and felt like I belonged in a Bollywood movie .... enough said ;) The other two however are just beautiful! I've had one blusher my entire life and can safely say ... BIG MISTAKE. I mix these most of the time and get a really natural kind of colour that actually lasts most of the day... definitely better than my previous one. The only downside to this is that they are really shimmery and so even during the day, I look like I've made such an effort with my make-up.

I also got some Benefit brushes and the Smokey Eye Palette box thing but thought that this post was getting lengthy enough! After having these in my make-up collection, I think it will be hard to go back to the cheaper products as I now see the benefit of having more expensive make-up (yes, pun intended ;))
