So When I think of festivals, I think mud, no toilets, no showers, no bed, lots of crowds....urgh really...it's just my worst nightmare. Don't get me wrong, I've always wanted to go for the 'experience' but when I've really thought about it, I can't bring myself to suffer under such awful conditions. I'm not saying I'm a princess, but I do like my luxuries or in my words, basic necessities (let's face it, a toilet, bed and shower are necessities). Then there's the worst case scenario of rain...oh I don't even want to think about it.
So taking in to consideration all of the above, why the hell did I say yes to volunteering at Reading this year? When most of my friends found out that I'd applied, I got a few laughs to say the least. I'm doomed....completely and utterly doomed.
Focus on the positives Chlo; good music, all your friends are going to be there, you'll meet new people and dance and drink a lot! ...Maybe this makes it all worth it!
Years of stalking Facebook photos of people being at festivals has taught me that even though your clothes may get ruined, you still have to look pretty cool. It seems as though people live in shorts, cardis and wellies so above is the start of a wishlist for Reading 2012. If I'm completely honest with myself, I won't be able to afford Hunters on top of everything else, but I'd like some boots that are similar!
All in all, I guess I'm quite excited! And don't worry... I'll definitely be doing a post-Reading blog post because I can guarantee there will be some funny stories!

Is anyone else going to a festival and/or have a festival wishlist?

  9. I'm going to reading festival this year too, which will also be my first! Not looking forward to not being able to wash properly etc, but I will be trying to look a tad bit fashionable, like you. It might make me feel less gross!

  10. Make sure you pack a nice big can of dry shampoo! Without a doubt you will get dirty at Reading, i've been twice and personally i feel i've 'grown out' of it slightly... I'm heading to Bestival this year, which i've heard have got some of the nicest festival toilets so i'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is true! Hope you have a great time! xx

  16. Portaloos aren't so bad once you've had a drink (or 10) and it's just great fun. You will forget about not being clean/sober/able to afford some food very quickly.

I really wanted to do Reading this year, but my friends and I settled for Beach Break Live again. Should be a good one!

    Have fun!

  25. I really want that white top! I have it in grey and I wear it all the time. I hate the thought of getting muddy and all that, but I bet you're going to have the experience of a lifetime! xxx

  26. I'm exactly the same! In an ideal world I would go to a festival and get right in to it, even if that involved getting covered in mud... but then I'd walk home to my luxury boutique hotel/luxury caravan or whatever so I could have a good, comfy nights sleep and a hot shower! I do love 'festival fashion' though - and your pics are great! That pink cardigan is gorgeous! xxxx

    1. Love you picks for a festival! I am going to Coachella and want everything from For Love and Lemons!

  28. This made me laugh because I'm exactly the same. I would also like to experience it but the lack of luxuries do put me off. Even when I'm at home, and havent washed my hair in 2 days and it's gone greasy, i get really frustrated! like my head feels really weighed down it all and you get the "heavy" feeling! Oh, i hate it and it makes me really moody! Other than that, i think i'd be ok!! xxx
